It’s that time again – the point in the year where many of us look back and think about what we’ve accomplished, and all that we still hope to do.

So first I want to thank you all – whether you’re one of our regular contributors, you submitted once or a few times in the past, or you’re still just getting the prompts in your inbox, contemplating writing something for one of them one day. You’re somewhere in your writing journey, and I’m so glad you’ve made us a part of it.

Our little community has grown so much over the years, and as we enter our fifth (!!!) year, I can’t wait for what’s to come. This time last year, we had just released our first zine – a wonderful little collection of past prompt responses and new submissions.

If you get our newsletter, you may have noticed the gears at the bottom of the last few. They’re just a hint at the things that are currently in the works, but I hope to have an update very soon. As you’re here on our website, you’ll have already seen one of them – we now have our own little domain!

For now, have a read of the responses we’ve received recently. Ponder the prompt for this month. I hope you’ve had an excellent writing year, and I can’t wait to see what you’ll write as we finish it.

The prompt

It’s been a while since we did a response based on a phrase. So take the words below, and use them somewhere in your prompt – at the beginning, somewhere in the middle, or even at the end. Add a word in between if you need to, or make it past tense.

“It’s been four days”

– All responses must be submitted by the 15th by the 22th
– Submissions can be flash fiction of up to 500 words
