Happy New Year, and happy birthday Palm-Sized Prompts!
Although I didn’t post our first prompt until February, a year ago now I was about to start putting together the website and contacting other writers I knew to get the word out about this little flash fiction writing community I wanted to start. Â Although we’re still a small community, I’ve enjoyed and been inspired by the wonderful range of pieces we’ve received as responses over the past year. Â I look forward to the growth and development I hope this next year will bring!
New years bring with them the theme of new beginnings, so what better way to start off this year of prompts?
Write a piece where two strangers meet.  They have something strange in common, but aren’t immediately aware of it.  Are they connected by something as simple as blood or an acquaintance?  Or is it something more abstract?
To celebrate this first year of Palm-Sized Prompts, I am also inviting all of you to submit a second piece. Â It can be about anything, as long as you still adhere to the 500 word limit. Â Was there a prompt you missed but still wanted to write a response? Â Do you have a piece you want to share but haven’t had a chance yet? Â Send it in!
