Palm-Sized Press

Retrospective

Palm-Sized Press’ first zine is compiled of flash fiction based on the theme ‘Retrospective’ as well as selected pieces from nearly three years of responses to the monthly prompts.

Retrospective zine plays with the concept of time. Whether in slowing its progress or simply looking elsewhere in its span, this international community of voices aims to peruse and examine – from the chilling visions of the future given by Megan Russo and Chloe Timms; to the disorientating distortions of time imagined by Yael van der Wouden and Bill Cox; to Talia Hale’s long-past winter, and the Old Gods that disappeared into the night-time snow.

Barry W. North’s concise, sharp prose invites us to be more daring and outspoken in our fiction; Christopher Oliver hints at the intrigue you can create by omission; and Paul Kindlon toys with the breathlessness of childhood fear in his creative use of punctuation.
