Paradox

by Beth Mangalino

He is the overseer in the seemingly chaotic world. One of the gods assigned to watch creation. He maintains the balance between mayhem and order. He is stuck in time and got infinity in his side.

For eons, he watched as empires faded and humans died. He saw wars waged and peace in the land. He witnessed all of these and did nothing; he merely passed by these lifetimes. Then, he got attached to a soul. A being to match his own. He never realized that the stakes were high for meddling with human lives. For someone who has lived all eternity, he does not know the value of time. Until now.

Never was he this mad at the fates for putting such a short time on these humans. Her lifetime was just a day in his. And for thousands of years, it was the greatest day of his life.
